Tomorrow is May 1st. We are 5 months in to the new year. Remember those resolutions we made the beginning of the year to get in shape? Oh how quickly some of us may have forgotten. Have you kept yours? Studies show that 60% of Americans fall short of their goals for weight loss in the new year. Not the greatest news, but there is a bright side. There is still time to turn this thing around. Let’s make some decisions to change our habits and meet our goals. Here are a few tips I suggest to get back on track:
- Now that the weather is warmer, find an outside activity that you enjoy and pursue it. Running, rollerblading, or biking can all be good choices for outside activity.
- If your local farmer’s market is open, pay the market a visit. There is a great selection of fresh fruits an vegetables to choose from that you can enjoy. Two benefits to this is you get to eat healthy, and support your local farmer at the same time.
- Make time for fitness in your daily schedule. Nothing should be more important than your health. Easier said than done I know. It takes 21 days to form a habit. I know you can do it!!
- Get an exercise buddy. What is great about having an exercise buddy, it is can make the activity twice as fun, and you both can have accountability.
If you need someone to hold you accountable, a wellness coach or a personal trainer can help you reach your goals while holding you accountable. Are you on track to meeting your goals?
