We can easily find a reason not to do something we find difficult can’t we? Weight loss is one of the struggles the majority of Americans deal with daily. Why is it so hard? Is it really hard to eat an apple instead of a cheeseburger? Is it really that hard to take 4% of our day (1 hour) to be active and exercise? It isn’t. What’s stopping you?
Is it a busy work schedule? Busy family life? Is it the classic, “I just do not have the time?” There’s an old saying that goes, “We make the time for what is important to us.” We all know how true this is don’t we? We make the time to see our favorite tv show or movie. We make the time to spend with our families and significant others. We make the time to go see or play sports. What happened to the time for you? The time to take care of you? You should make the time to take care of you. You were only given one body, one life.
The next question is….how do we get out of this mindset? What’s it going to take? Illness? Do we really want to get that far before we take action? The time is now! One amazing gentleman told me last week, you have to invest in you. If you do not invest in yourself, how can you expect someone else to invest in you?
This week, let’s take the time to put down the cheeseburger, and grab an apple instead. Let’s put down the TV remote, and grab a bike and go for a ride. We owe it to ourselves, and we owe it to our families. What’s stopping you?
